George Kanakis brings over 30 years of capital markets, private equity, and business consulting expertise to Edison Business Advisors. His upbringing in a family of successful entrepreneurs instilled in him invaluable lessons about hard work and legacy building. Inspired by their transition to retirement, he recognized the need to support business owners by leveraging new perspectives and creative approaches to unlock their business’s full potential and value.
In 2011, George founded his own advisory firm, specializing in capital raising, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions. His impressive track record includes advising private equity firms, family offices, independent sponsors, and business owners, and facilitating over $1 billion in U.S. notional equity, equity-linked, and debt financings and structures.
George’s diverse experience extends to roles as a hedge fund private equity investment manager and derivative futures and options department manager at Barclays Bank.
George holds a BA in Economics from Rutgers University and an MBA in Finance and Investments from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. He has held the following securities registrations: Series SIE, 3, 4, 7, 63, 79.
